Barcelona

Welcome to the second largest city in Spain, famous for its fashion and architecture. Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia and rests on the northeast coast of Spain.

Take a tour down La Rambla with Tourcaster and discover the best of Barcelona. As you explore the town you can still see remnants of its Roman heritage, including the ruins in Placa del Rei, the Basilica La Seu and the Gothic Quarter.

The tour begins at Placa de Catalunya, the city’s center and largest square. You’ll then stroll down la Rambla, which is a long avenue made up of smaller streets. As you discover the city’s great gardens and squares you pass by street merchants, musicians and thespians. Through your iPod, you will learn about the historical figures of Catalonia, Barcelona’s thriving textile industry and its importance as the second largest port in Spain.

You’ll pass by the Grande Teatre de Liceu, where you can see the opera, or listen to a recital by one of Spain’s talented musicians. Further along the tour you will reach the Christopher Columbus Monument and Maritime Museum, where you will learn about the great explorer’s journeys across the Atlantic.

The tour ends at Port Vell, once a deserted harbor, is now a bustling entertainment center renovated for the 1992 Olympics.

With Tourcaster as your personal guide, you’ll discover these sights and many more.
